Macro magazine
cover design
Macro magazine is a digital magazine filled with voices of the globe on topics that matter to all of us. Caitlin & Ilona were looking for a cover design for their summer 2021, The topic of the issue is Truth.
The requirements:
The design must incorporate a globe, and be consistent with the style of the magazine.
Sketch
1.
The truth as a conceptual Idea of lavers, and how everyone leans in a different direction, and the globe as the center of all of these ideas.
2.
I try to only show part of the world as a reference of how we are most centered in our truth.
3.
Globally truth, is a union of how the different parts construct the truth.
Feedback
After our meeting (a very nice one via zoom), Caitlin & Ilona liked the ideas and they propose including some conspiracy theories that could ve a sarcastic approach to talk about truth in current times, I love sarcasm and I worked to show it in this way.
1.
Flat earth theory illustration, showing a boat on the edge.
2.
The moon landing, as a fake Hollywood filming set.
3.
The globe with the truth broke as a gap, and how divided are become when your truth is different from mine.
Solution
We work together on those ideas and the chosen one was the number 3, the truth divided/broken. I work on the back cover as the other part of the world shocking Asia, middle east, and Australia. This magazine could be read online as a digital version or purchase as a print one.
Overall I love this project and the result, and the feeling of being part of a multinational media as Macro magazine makes me want to work again in the future with them.
